Why This Role Matters
As Private Label Manager, you’ll play a key role in building and growing Calo’s private label portfolio across Marketplace and retail channels. You’ll turn customer and market insights into commercially successful products, managing the journey from idea to launch while balancing quality, cost, and customer value. This role is central to expanding our product offering, driving profitable growth, and building strong supplier partnerships.
What You’ll Do
Own the end-to-end private label strategy and product roadmap across multiple categories.
Identify new product opportunities through customer insights, market trends, and competitor analysis.
Lead the development and launch of new products from concept to commercialization.
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with manufacturers and suppliers.
Partner with Culinary, Nutrition, QA, Supply Chain, Commercial, Marketing, Growth, Operations, and Finance teams to bring products to market.
Develop pricing and commercial strategies that balance customer value, competitiveness, and profitability.
Manage product specifications, packaging, labeling, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor sales, margins, customer feedback, and category performance to continuously optimize the portfolio.
Lead product launches and ensure smooth go-to-market execution across Marketplace and retail channels.
Build business cases, forecast demand, and manage product profitability with Finance.
Optimize the assortment by identifying opportunities to launch new SKUs and retire underperforming products.
Track key portfolio KPIs and drive initiatives that improve revenue, margins, quality, and customer experience.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field.
4–7 years of experience in Private Label, Category Management, Product Management, Buying, FMCG, Retail, or Food Manufacturing.
Proven experience taking consumer products from concept through commercialization.
Strong commercial and analytical mindset, with experience managing product P&Ls or category performance.
Experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, and contract producers.
Strong understanding of food product development, packaging, labeling, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple launches simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; experience with BI tools is a plus.
